The AURA Initiative
The AURA Protocol (Attribution & Usage Reporting for AI) is an open, community-driven initiative aimed at providing a verifiable framework to identify and disclose AI-assisted contributions in any digital artifact — from documents and datasets to designs, code, and media.
Why AURA?
As generative AI becomes deeply integrated into content creation pipelines, the line between human and machine authorship grows increasingly blurred. AURA responds to the urgent need for standardized metadata, attribution, and traceability in collaborative human–AI workflows.
Goals
- Promote ethical transparency in AI-assisted outputs.
- Enable reproducibility and responsible reuse of content.
- Support institutional and academic acknowledgment of AI contributions.
- Allow machine-readable citation of generative tools.
